Indigo is a yearling
filly out of famed producing mare, Suncrests Moonbeam.
We've long admired Moonbeam, a daughter of the legendary mare Suncrests Forever
Amber (producer of Supreme Champions Suncrests Kandi-Bar, Suncrests Doughboy,
Suncrests Big Mac etc etc). Moonbeam herself has produced many champions,
including Suncrests Amber Moon -World and International Champion and Record
breaking mare at the Sale, and Suncrests Moonshine, World and International
Champion and High Point JPFC saddle winner. Indigo's sire is Multiple World
Champion and World and International Champion Sire, Suncrests Tattoo, sire of
many champions, including Suncrests Magic Moment, World & International
Champion and JPFC High Point 2yo. With breeding like this, Indy is
sure to be a champion. Indigo is a black with a cute "tornado" shaped blaze. She
has white patches over her hips and lots of frost. She is roaning as well, so there will be even more flash in the future. Indy
will mature in the Large Mares category, and will be competitive at Halter and
Longe Line, and is a definite JPFC and Jr Pony prospect.
-
FLASH!
Indy has been sold to the Peaton Family of AZ. She'll be shown JPFC. Good
Luck Peatons and Indy!
-
FLASH!
Indy
won South West Regional Champion 2 year old Filly in Scottsdale in April.
Diane reports she is doing well under saddle, with an exceptional lope,
and we should see her at the Cal-State Futurities in August (2005).
-
FLASH!
Indy and
her owners have had a slight change in plans. Diana has moved aside for
daughter Lindsay, as Lindsay's gorgeous mare JOF Skippa Scotch (Penny) is
recovering from surgery. The pair went to their first show in September,
and Indy took Res. Grand Champion Mare, and they then went on to
high placings, 2nds & 3rds, in every class entered, all classes full.
Lindsay plans for Indy to be her Junior Pony, as Penny will
move into Senior next season. Good Luck Indy and Lindsay!!

- Summer Gold, '92 POA mare, chestnut with
roaning. Summer is by Santee Gold Hancock, Supreme Champion
and World and
International Champion and a son of Tough Plaudit, Premier Sire, and
out of Sage Hen's Flashy, a mare owned by the Johnson family of
Hollister CA, who
produced an astounding 17 POAs for the Johnson's, many of whom became
Champions and one, JK's Prince, who became a Supreme Champion. Summer
produced Skyrock Lakota Gold for us, and was
one of Skyrock's show ponies for the 2000 season. She is very competitive
in Medium Mares Halter with her gorgeous head and muscled build. Summer ended the
year with a National Medallion and the William Heald Perpetual Trophy.
- FLASH! Summer has been

- Skyrock Sugar Buzz,
a
'98 solid bright bay mare out of Driftwood's Velvet Sheba (see below) by
AQHA Clem's Buzzie. As she was born with no characteristics, and therefore
would never color up, Sugar was sold to a family in Norco to be a
companion for their aging Eventer. Called Minnie Me at their barn
because she so resembles the old Eventer, she was started in English and
began her over fences show career this year (2004). Her family is very happy
to report that Minnie - show name Fortune Cookie - was shown at
five 'A' shows this year and acquired two Reserve Championships and at her
final show in Santa Barbara, won the Championship. We are so happy that this
quality pony found a home to love her and show her to her potential! It just
goes to show you that quality is quality, and POAs are more than spots.

Can you say versatile? Good Luck, you two!
- FLASH! Codee
was featured in an
article on POAs and Dressage in the July 2005 issue of the POA magazine. Her
owner wrote the article, promoting dressage as an outlet for POAs owned by
adults who wish to show, and as additional training beneficial for ponies
who are currently showing POA. WooHoo!
- FLASH!
Codee and Diane had an outstanding 1st Dressage show, winning
FIRST in Intro A, FIRST in Intro B, FIRST in Dressage Eq. (W/T), and
High Point Amateur. Diane says she received many comments on Codee -
how pretty she was and how well she moved, and lots of raised eyebrows when
they learned she'd only begun training in April. Look at this photo - What a
beauty!

- FLASH! Codee
and Diane won the Year-end high point for Dressage Pony in their club.
Congratulations!!
- Skyrock MsTeeque, a '98 dark grulla with
roaning and spots filly by multiple World and International Champion, Santee
Saladin and out of Driftwood's Velvet Sheba. MsTee is
now owned by the Lynch family of Arizona. As MsTee is our first 'Skyrock' bred
pony, we are naturally interested in her progress. The Lynch's report they
absolutely adore MsTee, and they can't get
over her calm and easy demeanor whether at home or at shows. Samantha is
currently riding MsTee in Junior Pony classes, and Sydney is riding
her in 9-12 Games. Plans are to take her to the World this summer. Good Luck
MsTee and the Lynch Family.
- Flash! MsTee was shown at the
2003 World Show in Spanish Fork where she placed in several classes,
including Halter! Congratulations!

Show, 2004, and was very successful, placing in many classes.
- Flash!

Their daughter's legs are getting too long for her! I watched MsTee

very consistent, good minded pony

- Driftwood's Velvet Sheba, an '85 loud bay
roan with blanket and spots mare, was our first POA. She was the perfect
LeadLine mare and did very well for us for four years in that capacity. By EZ2C
Leo, International Champion producer, and out of Driftwood Gay Lea,
ApHC, who produced six International Champions, Velvet was
bred by one of the founders of POA, Ray Pietz. While at Skyrock, Velvet
produced Skyrock MsTeeque and Skyrock Sugar Buzz. A bold mare, who excelled in English and jumping, Velvet
is now owned by a family in Iowa. She was bred to Santee Saladin for
a June '01 foal.
- Flash! Velvet foaled a
full sister to Skyrock MsTeeque. A stunning buckskin with loads of dun factor and white spots
on the hips, Velvet's owners report this filly is gentle as a
lamb! Her name: Skyrock's Ginger Lady.
- Ginger has been purchased by Joan Petersen of IA for her
granddaughter, Emily. Good Luck with Ginger!
- Flash! Skyrock Sugar Buzz, a
four year old ID POA (Driftwood's Velvet Sheba X Clem's Buzzie AQHA),
has entered the field of show jumping and eventing! Her owners are delighted
with her, and call her "Mini Me" because she closely
resembles (minus about 3 hands!) their older Grand Prix jumper. Good luck
with the jumping career! (see her own Update section here!)
- Flash!
Skyrock's Ginger Lady and her recently graduated trainer/rider, Josie,
(cousin of Emily) plan
to enter the 19 & Over division this year, and possibly compete at the
Futurities in Iowa. Good Luck Josie and Ginger!
- Flash! During
her limited show season this year, Skyrock's Ginger Lady went
Grand Champion Halter Pony, and with her rider Emily, took 2nd in a
very large w/t class, and last year they won the showmanship class
together. Ginger has been bred to Sleepy Hollow Max for a 2006
foal, and everyone is very excited about that. Max has a reputation
of throwing good minded, buckskin/palomino babies, so it will be interesting
to see what this cross brings.
- Flash!
Ginger foaled a gorgeous grulla with blanket and spots filly.
Congratulations!
- Flash!
Skyrock's Ginger Lady and her filly Kiss Me Im Irish placed
top ten in both Weanling Fillies and Mare & Foal at the 2006
International. Excellent first time out! Congratulations Josie!

An
absolutely stunning colt, Skipper is everything a POA breeder could ask
for, and then some. A pretty headed, straight legged, long necked colt, he
has color to burn! He's Liver Chestnut with a pretty
blaze and a high rear stocking. But the best is behind him, as he sports a
blanket to mid-back loaded with quarter-sized spots. He is flashy flashy
flashy in the show ring!
With
his Skipper W Quarter Horse blood, he's already showing a tremendous
muscle tone, and he's tough to beat at halter, but he also has a floaty, soft lope that is just lovely and will make him shine at the rail
as well.
This
is a tremendous colt with a quiet disposition, who has the ability to be a
top sire or a fabulous show gelding. According to his cannon bone
measurement, he should mature a stout 55
1/2", and be a definite world class mount.
*****************
-
FLASH!
Skipper won the
Cal-State Yearling Halter Futurity at the Fairplex at Pomona (and went
Grand Champion under both judges at the Ponyrama held concurrently)!
-
FLASH!
Skipper took a Reserve
Champion in Yearling Colts, and a 5th (out of 15) in Lunge-Line and won the
Small Stallion Stakes at the 2003 POA International in Tennessee!
FLASH!
Skipper stood World Champion Yearling Stallion at the 2003 POA World
Show in Spanish Fork, beating a field of very nice colts. Skipper was
11 months old at this show. At the last minute, we threw him into
Yearling Lunge Line. Guess what? Reserve World Champion!
Skipper
has been sold!
Congratulations
to Lauren Aguilera of Just
Heavenly POAs in
Northern California on her purchase of this fine
colt!
-
FLASH!
Skipper
is standing at stud in
Northern California.
-
FLASH!
Skipper is on Lease to Shannan Pozzi of Pozzi POAs in Northern CA.
Plans are to saddle up and campaign him throughout 2008. His 07
filly, Just a Twist of Faith, is also with Shannan for fitting.
Good Luck!
